Linked to the Victorian Curriculum, we identify and target gaps in numerical acquisition such as:

  • Recognising, representing, ordering, partitioning and rearranging numbers to 1 000 000

  • Strengthening number bond skills (fluent addition and subtraction) to 100

  • Teaching research supported strategies for learning times tables

  • Using algorithms to solve problems involving all four operations

  • Understanding worded problems using bar modelling and evidence supported strategies

  • Solve problems involving of fractions using all four operations with the same or related denominators

  • Understanding the connection between equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages

  • Using number lines to represent directed numbers

  • Completing number sentences using brackets and order of operations

  • Connecting volume and capacity with their units of measurement

  • Measuring, calculating and comparing elapsed time

Linked to the Victorian Curriculum, we identify and target gaps in numerical acquisition such as:
  • Solving problems involving the order, addition and subtraction of rational numbers and integers

  • Showing the connections between whole numbers, index notation and the relationship to perfect squares and square roots

  • Using all four operations to answer problems involving fractions, decimals, percentages and their equivalents

  • Simplifying a variety of algebraic expressions in addition to connecting expansion and factorisation of linear expressions

  • Applying strategies to solve real-world, worded problems
